A Story worth Telling

When You Were 20-Years-Old

(from http://matthewlasnyder.wordpress.com)

What
were you doing when you were 20-years-old?

My past doesn’t define me, but it definitely played a role in shaping
who I am today. When I was 20-years-old, I was a sophomore in college. I
studied “religiously” for my major, burying my nose in between the
pages of textbooks hoping to find every last nugget of truth.

But Truth is a person.  And Truth doesn’t necessarily live in
textbooks. Truth dwells inside of me and Truth lives in other people.

I wish I had figured that out back then.

Elizabeth is
following the nontraditional route of living and discovery. She doesn’t
have a college degree. She doesn’t have a job. She doesn’t have a 401K.
She doesn’t know the chronological history of the nation of Israel and
she probably can’t draw out the Incarnational paradigm and tell you how
it applies to any and every situation.

But.

Elizabeth is
20-years-old and knows who she is. Like… she really knows who
she is. Elizabeth
is 20-years-old and she’s already spent months living overseas. Elizabeth is just
20-years-old and has shed blood for people she’s never going to see
again. Elizabeth
is 20-years-old and she’s established and is developing an inheritance
for her children’s children’s children that’s of far more value than
anything man can create. Elizabeth is
20-years-old and she has an intimate relationship with Truth.

Elizabeth’s 20-years-old and,
without a college degree, is changing the world.

What were you doing when you were
20-years-old?

This phenomenal woman is on my small team for this World Race
journey over the next four months. I have the pleasure of serving her,
growing with her, and seeing her step into more maturity and knowledge
of the Kingdom.

Elizabeth’s a fire-breather who’s got a heartbeat and a passion for
eradicating human trafficking.

But…

Elizabeth
needs $2,000 in her support account by January 31st or The World Race is going to fly
her home and she won’t be able to finish this journey with us. Friends,
this is unacceptable.

Honestly, this has been a challenging struggle for Liz. She doesn’t
have the support network quite like I do, quite like I’ve developed over
the last several years. Every last dollar that she’s gotten in to get
her to Cambodia has been a miracle in the making.

I don’t like to ask favors, but I’m asking you a favor… can
you pray and consider donating some dollars to Liz?
You know
how this works, even $5 helps. But she needs $2,000 in the next 11 days.

I mean, seriously, what were you doing when you were twenty?
I was buried in textbooks looking for Truth and developing a false
ideal of the Kingdom.

Elizabeth is living this thing out and freeing people in the process.

  1. Help keep her on my team.
  2. Check out her
    blog
    .
  3. Dump some serious dollars into her
    support account
    .
  4. And spread the word on every social and email network you have
    access to.

On behalf of her and my entire team, we thank you.
