Other thoughts on “being a person of influence”

There are some good books out there about this subject and I
think its important to know that we can be a influential employee, spouse,
parent, people if we are willing to look at ourselves from time to time and
make choices to change things in us.

Why do I want to be a person of influence? For my future kids, for the people I come in
contact with in my days that need hope and encouragement, for the lost that
need to hear the good news, for the poor that need help.

What would happen if a generation of bold Christians stood
up for the poorest of the poor and the broken and had the influence to do
something incredible for them?

What would happen if Christians in our nation stood up and
got involved in politics, their communities, and took on they world!?

We can’t expect to have influence just because we have the
name Christian (although a few stories of this come to mind). We need to be
active, in all and any way we can. Befriend the prostitutes, visit the sick and
dying. The Christian life is not a life of passivity. It is one of action,
suffering, joy, love, grace and surrender. Without Jesus your, and mine,
friends have a great chance of suffering this life and the next without
him…that is why we need to be people of influence.
